Rules for Custard

(Diane via Aunt Bon)

Oven: 325 (bake 60 minutes in water bath)

1 cup milk
2 beaten eggs
1 tbsp butter
1/4 cup sugar

or

2 cups milk
3 eggs
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup sugar

or

3 cups milk
5 eggs
4 tbsp butter
3/4 cup sugar

Method:
Scald milk (add butter to melt). Add sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, dash of salt and beaten eggs. Pour into oven proof dish, sprinkle with cinnamon and/or nutmeg.
